Extra Data for Decal and Detail Combo
Chicago & Eastern Illinois and Missouri Pacific offset side hoppers

C&EI

Several midwestern roads bought AAR 50-ton twin offest side hoppers. The C&EI bought two batches of this car design in 1945.

97300-97499 were built in April 1945 by the Mount Vernon Car Manufacturing Company. They came with Ajax power hand brakes, Wine door locks, Apex Tri-Lok brake steps, and Barber S-2 stabilized trucks with spring planks. These cars were originally painted gray with maroon stencils.

97500-97999 were built in November 1945 by Pullman-Standard. They came with Ajax power hand brakes, Enterprise Unit door locks, Apex Tri-Lok brake steps, and ASF A-3 Ride-Control trucks. These cars were originally painted a darker gray with white stencils.

The Resin Car Works Decal and Detail combo includes details and decals to best model these 97500-97999 series C&EI hoppers. An HO scale Atlas offset side hopper makes a great starting point.

MP

The Missouri Pacific bought three batches of this car design in the late 1930s.

58750-59249 were built in September 1936 by the American Car & Foundry Company. They came with Universal power hand brakes, Wine door locks, T-Z stamped brake steps, and AAR trucks with spring planks. These cars were originally painted black with white stencils.

59250-59749 were built in July 1937 by American Car & Foundry Company. They came with Equipco power hand brakes, Wine door locks, T-Z stamped brake steps, and AAR double-truss spring-plankless trucks. These cars were originally painted black with white stencils.

60550-60949 were built in August 1941 by American Car & Foundry Company. They came with Ajax power hand brakes, Wine door locks, Apex Tri-Lok brake steps, and AAR double-truss spring-plankless trucks. These cars were originally painted black with white stencils.

Beginning in mid-1949, the MP Lines emblem was enlarged to 42" diameter with the Route of the Eagles slogan added to promote their passenger service.

The Resin Car Works Decal and Detail combo includes details and decals to best model these series of MP hoppers. An HO scale Atlas offset side hopper makes a great starting point.
